Introduction

SwiftyLaunch 2.0 has arrived! This update introduces a host of exciting additions to the SwiftyLaunch ecosystem, designed to benefit our community while enhancing the experience of building successful apps.

SwiftyLaunch for Web

Say hello to SwiftyLaunch for Web. SwiftyLaunch now goes beyond creating a solid foundation for your next iOS app. It can also generate an easily customizable landing page to complement it.

During the setup process, you can choose to create an iOS app, a website, or both. Opting for both allows SwiftyLaunch to seamlessly connect them, saving you even more valuable development time..

Once your project is generated, you'll receive a stunning landing page built on Next.js, which you can tailor to your needs. Here's a quick preview:

The generated landing page is fully responsive (optimized for both mobile and desktop), offers a simple way to add Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages (required for the App Store!), and is incredibly easy to deploy. Visit our updated documentation for details on working with the Web Package or explore an example website created with it.

You can purchase SwiftyLaunch for Web alongside the iOS Package as part of the new SwiftyLaunch iOS + Web Bundle for $239 or upgrade your existing license to include the Web Package for just $99.

Note: The Web Package is not yet available in the Setapp version of SwiftyLaunch. We're collaborating with Setapp to bring it to you as soon as possible

Redesigned Setup Process

We've revamped the setup process to be more intuitive, especially with the addition of the Web Package. Options are now clearly grouped, making it immediately obvious which inputs affect each part of your generated application.

As you can see, you can now decide whether to include the Tuist Manifest File directly during setup. Selecting "Custom Accent Color" can now also bring upmacOS's integrated color picker. We've also moved the app foundation provider step alongside other inputs and added a new App Style selector. More on that in the next section.

More Customization Options

Sure, the native iOS look is nice, but have you checked out that quirky design trend popularized by sites like Gumroad? Now, you can choose that Neobrutalism style, and SwiftyLaunch will adapt UI elements accordingly. Alternatively, you can select the new Lollipop style, featuring rounded text and soft candy-like gradients for a bubblegum aesthetic.

Reworked Licensing System

We've completely rebuilt the licensing system from the ground up, making it faster, more reliable, and allowing you to individually deactivate activated machines (now that's innovation!). Easily manage your SwiftyLaunch packages directly through the updated licensing system

Automatic Git Repo Initialization

SwiftyLaunch now simplifies your setup even further! Initializing a new git repository is something we all do when starting fresh, sowe've added a toggle to let SwiftyLaunch handle it automatically. With a simple switch, SwiftyLaunch will create your repository, perform the initial commit, and generate an essential .gitignore file tailored for your project.

This convenient feature is available for both the iOS and Web packages.

New .requireNetwork() View Modifier

We've added a .requireNetwork() view modifier that ensures a network connection is active before displaying a view. It's perfect for network-dependent views when you'd rather skip the loading indicator.

Over 30 Other Improvements

Finally, SwiftyLaunch 2.0 includes numerous additional improvements and bug fixes. We won't bore you with every detail, but we'veaddressed common user-reported issues, refactored generated code, and made the overall experience more enjoyable.

The update is available now for all regular SwiftyLaunch users. The Setapp version has been submitted for review and should roll out within the next few days! Enjoy!
